Skyworth, a TV brand from China known for offering reasonably-priced high-quality TVs and monitors, is set to launch a new line of TVs that are perfect for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S!
The two big models in the line are Skyworth S82 - a 4K OLED TV, and Skyworth Q72 - 4K SmartMiniLED TV. They are both equipped with HDR 10, 120HZ refresh rate, and HDMI 2.1 connectivity.
Skyworth Q72
The Skyworth Q72 puts emphasis on deep blacks and color quality. The Q stands for "Quality." As a SmartMiniLED TV, it makes use of chip-on-glass tech. It features 20,736 backlights across 2,304 zones to enhance local dimming to provide vibrant picture quality and advanced display performance.
It also uses Active Matrix Addressing, which essentially means each dimming zone is independently controlled by its own integrated circuit. Doing that ensures backlight zones are always bright, delivering a flicker-free experience. And on top of that, it uses an AI Matrix Dimming tech that Skyworth itself developed to use algorithms for more precise lighting control, effectively enhancing the contrast ratio to 1,000,000:1 and peak brightness of 1500nit.
As for the colors, the Q72 supports 115% DCI-P3 and 10bit color depth, which should produce over one billion colors for a vibrant viewing experience. On top of all of that, it also supports 3D LUT Function, Dolby Vision, and HDR10! Based on the pre-launch media brief I attended, it seems like their design philosophy was to get as close to "true to life" as possible. This is one of the steps they took to try and achieve that.
For the audio, the Q72 has a 2.1.2 speaker set up with two front-firing and two upward-firing speakers, and an external wireless subwoofer. It also supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
Under the hood, it has an 8K SoC integrating a multi-core CPU, GPU, and a dedicated AI processing unit (APU).

Skyworth S82
The S82 is a 4K OLED TV that focuses on color accuracy and "true-to-life" entertainment experiences. The S stands for "Supreme."
Sporting a color accuracy of △E0.861, the S82 supports switching among sRGB/BT.709, BT.2020 and DCI-P3 color gamut.
While not as big as the Q72, only being available in 55" and 65", the S82 still aims to deliver superb picture quality, brightness, depth, and detail by utilizing the Skyworth AI Picture Quality Engine. The S82 supports 4K resolution, Dolby Vision, HDR10, with a 4K 120Hz OLED V21 panel.
The design has your comfort in mind, featuring an anti-glare OLED screen, Skyworth Ambient Light Sensor, and Dolby Vision IQ. The Q82 will adjust screen brightness and color temperatures based on surrounding lighting conditions.
For the form factor, it was built to look good - the Q82 features an ultra-thin body, at only 3.9mm width.
In the audio department, the slim frame accommodates the Skyworth Audio Drum, a 20w built-in subwoofer that can produce frequencies as low as 50Hz. Along with Dolby Atmos, it should deliver some punchy bass.
