YES! Singaporean R3 PSN now accepts PH-issued credit cards!
The buying experience for PlayStation Network hasn't been great for Filipino players. There is no official PH support, so when you sign up to make an account, you have to pick another supported country. The most common ones Pinoy PlayStation users choose are Hong Kong, Singapore, and the US. Hong Kong was a good choice, even though a lot of their titles are Chinese only, because that region used to be the only one that accepted PH-issued credit cards. That has been the case since the PS3 days.
The other day, on a whim, I decided to add to try and buy some in-game credits for Avengers. At first, I tried my PayPal, but that wouldn't work because my PayPal still has a PH address attached to it. Then I tried my credit card - I figured, if it doesn't work, then I'll just buy off OffGamers or something. And to my surprise, it worked flawlessly.
Here's how to do it:
1. Go to the PlayStation Store on your console. Click on the three dots and select Payment Methods.
As you can see in the image below, I already have my Mastercard added.
2. Select the icon with the plus symbol that says Credit/Debit Card
3. Enter your credit card details normally.
4. For the address, you can put in any address. As in, you literally can just put gibberish, except for the postal code. The postal code has to be a real postal code. That's the only part of this that has to be real. It's likely that you have to use the same postal code that you signed up with.
5. Card should be successfully added.
This workaround is likely the only way we can put in our credit card information into our PSN accounts until Sony supports the Philippines as its own region. That's not likely to happen anytime soon, but I'm really happy that they let us use our credit cards on our R3 SG accounts!
