I'm one of the lucky ones, I guess. When Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on the PC, it was riddled with a lot of issues. High profile YouTubers like JayzTwoCents couldn't even get the launcher to launch without being met with BSODs or some vague error that just ended in process termination. I didn't have time to actually start the game up within the first 48 hours of release, which gave Rockstar time to put out a 12GB patch, which most likely fixed any start-up issued I would've had if I had started it at launch.
When I finally did have time to take it out for a test drive, I had no issues. The game did crash for me once or twice, but it wasn't really something rage-worthy. I mean, of course, besides the fact that my overclocked 9700k, 16GB of 2400Mh RAM and GTX 1080 can barely run it at 30fps at 1440p at high settings, it ran fine for the most part. And because of that fortunate timing on my part, I never experienced the frustration and salt most people did at launch.
Unfortunately, there are still a few issues plaguing the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC port. Some users are reporting some stuttering issues. I don't get it, but it seems to exist on some users. Good news is that Rockstar are aware and are doing what they can to resolve said issues. The current theory is that it's an Nvidia driver issue, so Rockstar and Nvidia are working together to try and resolve that. I do hope they improve FPS optimization while they're at it.
