Every gamer in the history of ever has dreamed of being part of the video game industry. I know I sure as hell tried, despite having absolute ZERO technical knowledge or ability and ridiculously poor 3D animation skills. For people like me, I'd have to be satisfied with being the end user. However, YOU could be that someone to fulfill that dream. With technology, instruction and knowledge being more available than ever, now would be the perfect time for you to start chasing after that ever elusive dream. And hey, what better way to start your journey than with a little bit of inspiration.
The Philippine chapter of the Independent Game Developers Association (IGDA) is holding a special screening of Indie Game the Movie. There will be two screening dates - June 12 and June 17. Both dates will start at 8PM at the u-view theater at Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street. Each ticket goes for a mere hundred bucks, and all proceeds go to paying off the venue.
The one for June 12, that's today, still has a few slots available so I highly recommend you make your way there, even if you're only slightly interested in game development. Learning from those who have come before you can't be a bad thing, yeah? And take this opportunity to network with your fellow game developers. Despite what your highschool teacher tells you, it's half what-you-know and half who-you-know.
Oh, also, here's some more inspiration. Here's a level on Tekken. Lemme know if it looks familiar to you at all.
Yours could be the next hand responsible for this!
