Outbreak BGC (July 28) will be a shot at redemption for many who didn’t survive the first Outbreak at Nuvali, Laguna. However, there is nothing like success during the first try. Here are some tips to help new runners get a triumphant ending.
TIP #1: The organizers advocate simply running instead of thinking. This may be good advice, but a little thinking won’t hurt your chances of survival. Analyze the movements of the zombies in front of you and you’ll find a way to evade their attacks.
TIP #2: Wait for other runners and then run. This is not a time to be a hero, everyone. This is a time to survive. When the zombies are preoccupied and distracted, take the chance to get out of the encounter unscathed.
TIP #3: The easy path is not always the easiest. When faced with the choice, take the hard path to take advantage of all the crazy runners taking it as well. More people means more distractions for our zombie friends and less attention towards you (Please see TIP #2).
TIP #4: Come to the race with... clean ears? Yes, clean those ears! Those dark areas near the tracks are your enemies. You never know what are lurking behind them so better listen, listen and listen.
TIP #5: Before throwing yourself into the fray, be resourceful and make it hard for the zombies to get your precious lives by adjusting your flag belt depending on which side they will reach out from. Don't put them near sensitive body parts though, that would be cheating!

From Jollibee toys to the video game to even the Spider-Man donuts, we've got you covered. A few days before the movie was released, Krispy Kreme gave us donuts inspired by it, likely in an attempt to ride on the hype that was surrounding the Amazing Spider-Man. I wrote a guest post over at BaconTunaMelt about the ridiculous sweetness of these Spider-Man Krispy Kreme donuts. It's sort of like when we wrote about the Green Lantern donuts over at the old Comicology blog on dotPH. Only difference is that I did it straight on BaconTunaMelt.com this time.
I think my opinion about these donuts has some weight mainly because 1. I love donuts and 2. I like Spider-Man. To read the full post, click here!
San Diego Comic Con, as we all know, is the mecca of all geekery in the world. And every year, they drop bombs of news in buttloads. And every year, the entire geek community trembles in excitement. I decided to put together a list of what I personally found to be the most exciting announcements of this year's SDCC so far.
Marvel Legends Gold and White Iron Fist
When I first started my small toy collection, the very first figure I picked up was the Toybiz Marvel Legends Iron Fist. Seeing him get some love from Hasbro made me geek out something fierce.
Looks like he's getting the Bruce Lee pose, though I would've liked it better if that hand wasn't exactly like Spider-Man's.
Marvel Universe Elektra
Back when I was starting, I wanted to get just characters from a specific group - namely, the Daredevil characters. Elektra, being a vital figure of that mythos, would make an excellent addition to my humble set.
Of course, Hasbro announced a hell of a lot more figures than those two. We're gonna get a new Punisher, Red She-Hulk, Archangel, Hyperion and a bunch of others. Check this page out to see them all. Incidentally, that's where I ganked those pics from, too. Thanks, MarvelousNews.com!
Round 5 is about a week delayed, and I apologize about that. There was just a bunch of cool articles that I had to get out of the way before we could get started on this. Now, during Round 4, there were some complaints about the time of the vote closing, and I sincerely apologize for that. The time the widget uses doesn't seem to be the local time I set my system at. It seems to take from its own server. It seems like we're ahead by 6 full hours, but I'm still not 100% sure. So, to remedy that, here is the schedule we'll follow for Round 5. It will start some time tomorrow morning, July 6, 2012, and end some time in the late afternoon or evening July 8, 2012, in theory.
It's a game so let's have a little fun with it.
Match 16: Ace VS Thor Odinson
Ace challenged Thor, as seen here. The challenge has been accepted and they're ready to throw down! Ace needs Thor's dead body to find his partner, Gary. Thor just needs to kick ass.
EDIT: Ace and Thor go head to head here. Do you agree? Vote!
Movie based spider-goodies are at everyone's favorite fast food joint run by a giant smiling bee! They came out with fantastic Avengers stuff last month, so I'm hoping this next batch of collectibles are going to be just as cool. Starting June 22 until July 31, 2012, the merchandise will be available with every purchase of a Jollibee Kids meal.
But before we talk about the smaller meals, let's talk about the one I'm buying as soon as I get to the Jollibee near the office on the 27th - Chickenjoy Bucket.
Do you know what the only way to make Chickenjoy better is? It's to add three plates of spaghetti and about 6 more piece of Chickenjoy. Putting a pic of Spider-Man doesn't hurt either. Pretty sure Spidey fans are going to buy a couple buckets and display them somewhere. This is if they find five other friends who just happen to be hungry at the time. Very hungry.
The bucket meal goes for P395 for the 6 piece bucket, or P475 for the 8 piece bucket.
