Geeky Shirts

So, a few weeks ago, I had some extra time on my hands. Weirdly enough, extra time and I don't really mix, since I always find something to drain the hours with, among which Reddit is much appreciated for. In this particular instance, I thought it'd be cool to draw up some shirts. I am not an artist by any stretch of the imagination. I know how to work image manipulation tools, but that's about it. But with my limited non-existent artistic ability, I went ahead with my idea and designed some shirts.

Check em' out and let me know what you think by leaving a comment.

Green Lantern shirt

This is the front. A white line goes down the left side of the shirt. Green Lantern logo over the chest. On the sleeves, it would say "2814," which any Green Lantern fan knows is the space sector where you can find our very own planet Earth.

Christmas 2013

2013 may not have been the greatest year for us humans in the world, but we survived. We get to celebrate another Christmas. And for that, we should all be thankful.

Let this Christmas season be a reminder of what the holiday really stands for. No, not the birth of Jesus. It's all about giving and generosity and love and goodwill towards all men. The Philippines recently suffered through a devastating storm. In the spirit of the holiday, I urge you all to give or do what you can to help out. If you need a place to start, here and here would be good.

Here's to more geeky goodness! And like every year, we here at GeekOut.ph wish all of you a bestest ass-kickingest Christmas possible!

Art With Heart

On this site, more often than not, we're sort of guilty of fictional hero worship. We love our heroes. We love how they inspire us, how they give us an ideal we can strive for. So every now and then, when the opportunity to be heroic presents itself, I say you grab it by the hair and drag it to your cave.

For weeks now, since the devastation that Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) brought came to light, we have been seeing heroes left and right. Everyone from the guy who spent his last few bucks to buy some relief goods, all the way to the doctor who hails from far away lands but whose boots are on the ground is a hero.

We have another chance to be a hero.

Eat Like a Thunder God at Jollibee

As Thor: The Dark World's launch steadily approaches, we're flooded with Thor: TDW goodies. Just today, I saw the 3.75" figures on display at Toy Kingdom. They weren't great, and they're a little expensive. Only the Kurse and the Dark Elf figures piqued my interest. I guess I'm passing on those for now.

You know what else piques my interest? Chicken. Specifically Jollibee Chickenjoy. So, bang those two concepts together and you've got a winning combination.

From September 16, 2013 to November 3, 2013, the special Thor TDW themed Jollibee Chickenjoy buckets will be available at your local favorite Jollibee. The sweet spot is the set that comes with 8 pieces of crispylicious, juicylicious Chickenjoy, 4 orders of hot, steaming rice, 4 regular Cheese Crisscut fries and 4 regular drinks for only Php599.

If you were a party of four males with thunder god-like appetite. each one would get 2 pieces of chicken, an order of rice, a regular order of Cheese Crisscut fries and a drink and would only shell out Php149.75 each. Sweet.

There are two other variants - a 6 piece Chickenjoy bucket worth Php335 and the 8 piece solo bucket for Php429.

So, if you think Chris Hemsworth is papable and you want to eat chicken out off a bucket with his face on it, then this should be right up your alley. Go ahead and call 8-7000 for delivery.
