I can't stop watching the trailer! It is magnificent. Look at their eyes, and you will seriously start doubting if these guys were CG or live action. Maybe a mix of both?
In it, we see henchmen bring a box into a warehouse, as henchmen traditionally do. Batman, being Batman, busts em' up with no trouble. Box goes kaboom and we're treated to a sweet fight scene between Deathstroke and Bats. That fight scene alone is better than Iron Man 3. I feel like it's important to mention that Deathstroke isn't a classic Batman villain. He has his roots in the Teen Titans' mythology, but he's a complete bad ass and would really give Bats a run for his money so I love that he's in the game.
Deadshot then interferes and snipes Deathstroke's sword to pieces. He, then, shoots a link off a chain, causing a container van to crash onto the fight, subsequently ending Batman and Deathstroke's battle. As the smoke clears, we see Black Mask talking to Deathstroke. It seems to imply that the main villain in this installment is Black Mask as he seems to be the one who ordered the hit.
Black Mask and Deadshot have both already been featured in a previous Arkham game, Arkham City. They seem to have been redesigned, though. This is how he used to look.
Speaking of redesigns, I am digging the new (old, I guess, since this is a prequel) look. It is just magnificent. Do you not agree?
Wow.
Here's what we know about the game so far. Deathstroke will be a playable character. I'm guessing, in the challenge maps. Kevin Conroy will be Batman again, but he'll be playing old Batman. Young Batman will be played by Roger Craig Smith. He did Ezio, Captain America and Chris Redfield.
Warner Bros. Games Montreal, please don't drop the ball on this one. Do Rocksteady proud please.
The other thing that has got me giggling like a schoolgirl tonight is the PS4 reveal teaser.
It's a series of really tight and blurry shots of what is supposed to be the actual console. When Sony did their big reveal back in March, they didn't show the actual, physical console. We got details but no one really knew what it looked like. I think it's because they wanted ammo against Microsoft and didn't want to reveal their hand right off the bat.
Another cool thing about this video is that they say they're going to reveal the actual console on June 10, 2013, 6PM PDT. This means they'll be revealing the console at E3. The timing of this video release is also pretty tactical, given that the XBox 720/Infinity is set to be revealed tomorrow.
Exciting stuff, exciting stuff! Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go back and watch that Batman: Arkham Origins trailer a few more dozen times.
